Embrace the assurance that our risen Lord is with us, leading us through the darkest valleys. Hold fast to this truth and boldly proclaim the hope we have in our Shepherd.
Introduction
In the book of Revelation, we catch a glimpse of a breathtaking scene. John sees a multitude of people from every nation, tribe, and language, standing before the throne and before the Lamb. They are clothed in white robes, holding palm branches in their hands. Their voices rise in unison, proclaiming praise and honour to the Lamb upon the throne. This Lamb, who is also the Shepherd, provides, protects, cares for, and lovingly leads his flock.
The Humble Shepherd
The image of a Shepherd may seem ordinary, but this Shepherd is no ordinary one. He is the risen Lord, who rules heaven and earth. He is intimately involved with his people, guiding them and providing for their needs. Despite his exalted position, he remains humble, never rejecting or abandoning the world that rejects and abandons him.
Proclaiming Hope in the Darkness
As followers of Christ, we are called to proclaim hope in the darkness. We live in a world filled with sin, evil, and death, but we serve a Shepherd who has already won the victory over these forces. He has conquered sin, evil, and death through his sacrificial love on the cross. In the face of despair and hopelessness, we have the assurance that our Shepherd is with us, leading us through the darkest valleys.
Conclusion
By recognising that the Lamb upon the throne is also the Shepherd who lovingly cares for us, we can find comfort and hope in the midst of a broken world. Let us hold fast to this truth and boldly proclaim the hope we have in our risen Lord.

Discover your role as an ambassador of Christ in proclaiming his love and salvation to a world in need. Ask yourself, Who will be in heaven because of you? Introduction: Who Will Be in Heaven Because of You?
Who will be in heaven because of you? You were put on this earth to fulfil God's purpose for your life. One of the most important parts of this purpose is to tell other people the Good News of God's saving grace. Some people will only be in heaven because you shared the Good News with them.
The Great Multitude in Heaven
In Revelation 7:9-12, we catch a glimpse of the heavenly scene where a great multitude from every nation, tribe, people, and language stands before the throne and the Lamb. This vast assembly, which cannot be counted, is clothed in white robes and holds palm branches in their hands. They cry out in a loud voice, praising God and the Lamb for their salvation.
Encouragement for the Insignificant
This passage serves as a powerful encouragement for every believer, especially those who may feel insignificant or think that their efforts in sharing the Gospel are of little importance. The imagery of the countless multitude in heaven reminds us that even the smallest acts of faithfulness can have an eternal impact.
Just as the multitude in Revelation 7 includes people from every nation, tribe, people, and language, we are reminded that the Gospel is for all people. No matter the size of our church or the number of people we reach, we can take heart in knowing that our efforts, no matter how small they may seem, can contribute to the salvation of souls.
Telling the Good News
This passage challenges us to do all that we can to share the Good News with as many people as possible. We are called to be ambassadors of Christ, proclaiming his love and salvation to a world in need. Our actions, words, and prayers can make a difference in the lives of others, leading them to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ.
Let us be encouraged by the multitude in heaven and be inspired to do our part in spreading the Gospel. Whether it is through personal conversations, acts of kindness, or supporting mission, each effort contributes to the fulfilment of God's plan.

Discover the beauty of Proverbs 31:10-31, a poem that showcases the character of a woman of valour. Learn how to approach tasks and responsibilities with emphasis on character over deeds. Find inspiration in honouring and praising those who exemplify godly values and characteristics. Explore the call for all, regardless of gender, to live with integrity and strength. Reflect on the ways you can demonstrate valour in your daily life and inspire others to do the same. Embrace the choice to live with valour and bring glory to God.
Introduction: Understanding the Poem
Proverbs 31:10-31 is not a job description, but a beautiful poem that reveals the character of a woman of valour. These verses show us how we should approach our tasks and responsibilities, emphasising the importance of character over deeds.
Praising A Woman of Valour
Within this poem, there is only one command, directed towards men: "Reward her for all she has done. Let her deeds publicly declare her praise" (Proverbs 31:31). When we encounter a woman who exemplifies the values and characteristics listed in Proverbs 31, we are called to honour and praise her. This is a command that applies to all of us, regardless of gender.
A Call to Women
Although the command is not explicitly stated, I believe there is an instruction here for women as well: be a woman of valour. Valour is not about what you do, but about the way you do it. Whether you are an office worker, nurse, teacher, in ministry, retired, rich, poor, single, married, or childless, embrace the call to exhibit strong godly character in all that you do.
Choosing to Live with Valour
Valour is a choice that each of us can make, regardless of our circumstances. It is your character that defines you, not just what you do. By choosing to live with valour, we can bring glory to God and inspire others to do the same.
Remember, being a woman of valour is not limited to gender; it is a call for all of us to live with integrity, strength, and godly character. Let us honour and praise those who exemplify these qualities, and strive to be women and men of valour ourselves.
Reflection Question
How can you demonstrate valour in your daily life, regardless of your current circumstances or roles?

Pray for wisdom and strength for parents in fulfilling their role. Embrace your role as a parent and raise your children in a way that honours God and equips them for a purposeful life.
Introduction - A Christian Family: A Learning Centre for Life
Can you remember some of the things your parents taught you? From baking to planting vegetables, our parents have been our first teachers. They not only taught us basic skills but also instilled in us kingdom values such as kindness and forgiveness. This is exactly how God planned it - a Christian family is meant to be a learning centre.
Learning and Growing
In families, we learn not only how to walk, talk, and eat but also wisdom, spiritual maturity, and good relationships. Even Jesus, the Son of God, needed a family to help him grow physically, mentally, spiritually, and socially. Mary and Joseph played a vital role in his upbringing, shaping him into the person he was meant to be.
The Responsibility of Parents
Raising children well is the primary responsibility of a Christian family. While others, such as teachers and church members, may play a part, parents bear the ultimate responsibility. It is part of their job description to guide their children towards growth and development in all areas of life.
Prayer for Parents
Let us take a moment to pray for all mothers and fathers, that they may have the wisdom and strength to fulfil their role as parents. Pray that they will do everything in their power to help their children grow strong mentally, physically, socially, and spiritually.
Remember, a Christian family is not just a place of love and support, but also a place of learning and growth. As parents, let us embrace our role and strive to raise our children in a way that honours God and equips them for a purposeful life.

What are some practical ways you can help create a learning environment within your own family?

Unexpected Kindness: Reflecting God’s Mercy

Summary
Discover the importance of God's mercy and how we can reflect it through unexpected acts of kindness. Learn how to make a positive impact on the lives of others and bring hope, joy, and comfort to those in need. Reflect on the question of how you can show unexpected kindness today. Embrace God's mercy and be known for your love and compassion.
Introduction
When we think of God, various characteristics come to mind. Some may see him as sovereign, all-knowing, or omnipresent. However, the Bible reveals that God's most important characteristic is his mercy. Far from being angry or judgmental, God is overflowing with love and compassion for us. His mercy is displayed through unexpected acts of kindness.
Understanding Mercy
Mercy is love in action. It goes beyond mere words and extends a helping hand to those in need. Just as God shows us mercy, he calls us to do the same for others. In a world where kindness is often unexpected, our acts of mercy can leave a lasting impact on those around us.
Showing Unexpected Kindness
As followers of Christ, we are called to reflect God's mercy by going the extra mile in showing unexpected kindness. This includes our family, friends, neighbours, co-workers, and anyone else in need. By extending a helping hand, offering a word of encouragement, or simply listening, we can make a difference in someone's life.
Thanking God and Pledging Kindness
Let us take a moment to thank God for his abundant mercy towards us. Despite our shortcomings, his love and compassion never waver. In response, let us pledge to be vessels of his mercy by actively seeking opportunities to show unexpected kindness. By doing so, we can bring hope, joy, and comfort to those who need it most.
By embracing God's mercy and reflecting it through unexpected acts of kindness, we can make a positive impact on the lives of others. Let us be known for our love and compassion, just as our Heavenly Father is known for his mercy towards us.
Reflection Question
How can you intentionally show unexpected kindness to someone today?

A Mother’s Love and Sacrifice: Following the Example of Jesus
Tuesday Mar 12, 2024
Tuesday Mar 12, 2024
Summary
Discover a mother's love and sacrifice and the example set by Jesus. Learn how to sacrificially love and serve others, trusting in God's provision.
Introduction: Living with Integrity: A Mother's Love and Sacrifice
When a mother looks out for the needs of her children, there is always a cost. Growing up, my family didn't have a lot of money, but my Mum always found a way to provide for us. She sacrificed many holidays so that she could afford to send her children to life-changing events like music schools and junior camps. This is a testament to the sacrificial love that mothers have for their children.
Practising Wisdom
Looking after the needs of others always involves some sacrifice. It may require giving up your time, money, energy, or even privacy. However, when we sacrifice our own needs for the sake of others, we are practicing wisdom. In Proverbs 31:10-31, we see the example of a wise and virtuous woman who goes above and beyond to care for her family and community.
Following the Example of Jesus
When we talk about sacrifice, we cannot overlook the ultimate example set by Jesus. He sacrificed everything for us, willingly going to the cross to save us from our sins. His focus was always on our needs, not his own. As followers of Christ, we are called to imitate his selfless love and sacrifice in our own lives.
God's Promise
As we assume responsibility for meeting the needs of others, God promises to meet our own needs. This is all part of his plan. We can trust in God's provision as we sacrificially give to others. It may not always be easy, but we can find comfort in knowing that God sees our sacrifices and rewards them.
By embracing the sacrificial love of a mother and following the example of Jesus, we can make a positive impact on those around us. Let's be prepared to sacrifice for others, trusting in God to provide for our own needs as we meet the needs of others.
Reflection Question
How can you sacrificially love and serve others in your life, following the example of Jesus?

Being Honest with God in Times of Suffering

Summary
Discover the infinite and everlasting love of God. Reflect on God's covenantal love and learn how to respond to it. Find comfort and strength in his unwavering love, and let it transform your perspective and actions. Explore the beauty of God's love and its impact on our daily lives.
Introduction: How Long, O Lord?
How long until my Amazon package arrives? How long is this queue? Are we nearly there yet? We don’t like waiting, do we? This is particularly true when we are facing a time of suffering. Just now some of us are facing health concerns, some experiencing the grief of loss of loved ones, some facing career or finance worries. Many of us will have experienced something in this past twelve months that has made us want to cry out with the psalmist, “How long, O Lord?” (Psalm 6:3b).
Being Honest with God
Why are you waiting to show your love to me, O God? It’s OK to be honest with God. There is no point in pretending to him that everything is fine when it’s not. He knows our heart. We can be honest with him when we’re angry or in despair because he knows us inside out and only wants what’s best for us. Being honest with him gives us the space we need to turn our attention back to him and his love for us.
Turning from Fear to Confidence
That’s what David does in this verse. His thoughts turn from his fear to his confidence in God’s love. The best defence we have against discouragement is to be saturated with the knowledge of God’s love and be filled with his presence.
Conclusion
In times of suffering, it is natural to question and wonder how long our pain will last. However, as believers, we can find solace in being honest with God. He already knows the depths of our hearts and our struggles, so there is no need to pretend that everything is fine. Instead, we can pour out our anger, frustration, and despair before him, knowing that he desires what is best for us.
By being honest with God, we create a space for him to work in our lives. It allows us to shift our focus from our fears and pain to his love and faithfulness. Just as David did in Psalm 6:8-10, we can turn from our cries of "How long, O Lord?" to a place of confidence in God's unwavering love for us.
In the midst of suffering, it is crucial to remember that God's love for us never wavers. By immersing ourselves in the knowledge of his love and seeking his presence, we can find strength and encouragement to endure. Rather than allowing discouragement to overwhelm us, we can find hope in the certainty of God's love. Take a moment to reflect on how you can be more honest with God about your struggles. Summary
In times of suffering, it is natural to question and wonder how long our pain will last. However, as believers, we can find solace in being honest with God. By pouring out our struggles before him, we create a space for him to work in our lives. This daily devotional podcast episode explores the importance of being honest with God, turning our attention to his love and presence, and finding strength in the certainty of his unwavering love. Reflect on how you can be more honest with God about your struggles and seek his love and presence in the midst of suffering.
Introduction: God's Covenantal Love
Have you ever started the day promising yourself (or God) that you will be kind and loving to everyone, only to forget it promptly the first time someone irritates you? I’ve certainly been there, more than once! Thank goodness God never forgets he loves us.
God's Infinite Love
His love for us remains forever. His love for us is infinite. It overarches our time frame. His love for us existed before we did and it extends beyond us even as we enter our eternal journey beyond this earthly life. His covenant love for us is from everlasting to everlasting. It continues down through the generations.
Our Response
So, what is our response to this incredible love? Our response is to learn to love and remember him. It is to believe in him and to learn to obey him. It is to learn to trust in his love.
Remember, God's love is not based on our performance or fleeting emotions. It is a steadfast and unwavering love that endures through all circumstances. Let this truth fill your heart and guide your actions today and every day.
God's covenantal love is a beautiful reminder of his faithfulness and grace. Let us strive to love and remember him, knowing that his love for us is everlasting.
Conclusion
Today, let us hold onto the truth that God's love for us is from everlasting to everlasting. No matter what challenges or difficulties we may face, we can find comfort and strength in his unwavering love. Let us respond by loving and remembering him, trusting in his faithfulness each step of the way.
Reflect on God's covenantal love today and let it transform your perspective and actions.
Reflection Question
Take a moment to reflect on God's covenantal love. How does knowing that God's love for you is from everlasting to everlasting impact your daily life? How can you respond to his love and reflect it to others?
